[dropcap]C[/dropcap]ommunity Partnership for Children is hosting its inaugural “Angling for Children” bass fishing tournament to benefit children in foster care within our community on Saturday, September 27th at Ed Stone Park, DeLand, Florida. Competitors will have the opportunity to vie for cash prizes ranging up to a Grand Prize of $2000.
According to Mark Jones, Chief Executive Officer of the Community Partnership for Children, “The ‘Angling for Children’ Bass Fishing Tournament is unlike any other tournament in the area because it directly benefits children in foster care in Volusia, Flagler, and Putnam counties.”
The proceeds from this event will be administered by the Community Partnership for Children to enable foster children to participate in extracurricular programs, community sports programs, after-school tutoring programs, and a wide-range of enrichment activities that customarily are not funded by foster care agencies. The proceeds will also be used to provide the children with access to dental services and medical care not covered by health insurance programs.
Commenting on Coastal Angler Magazine’s major sponsorship commitment to this event, Don Meadows, Co-Publisher noted, “Our participation in this important event clearly reflects our commitment to addressing the specific needs of the local communities of anglers that we serve; when we can contribute to bringing together local anglers for the benefit of children in need in our community, our mission is well-served. I am hopeful that our readers will turn out in droves to assure the success of this important and worthwhile event.”
