Bimini Dive Forecast – May 2011

Neal Watson’s Dive Bimini reporting 80-degree water and forecasts for flat seas on Bimini’s west side.

Spring has arrived and with it easterly winds and 80 degree water, which means throughout the spring and summer, flat seas should be the order of the day when diving on the west side of the island!

With the dolphin grounds north of the island and exposed with no lee, calm seas are required for the wild dolphin encounters. We have been getting in some great days with guests experiencing the thrill of a lifetime—snorkeling and interacting with the wild spotted dolphins.

Thanks to the gracious donation of funds by the Guy Harvey Foundation, the dive team has been busy aiding in the replacement of fifteen permanent mooring balls off Bimini to help protect the reef.  The entire project should be completed by the first of June.

We’re only 48 nautical miles from South Florida, a 17 minute flight or a short boat ride away; don’t be a stranger, come and experience all that Bimini has to offer.
