Brevard County Fishing Report

It was a flat calm day out on the Lagoons on Tuesday. The Mosquito, Banana River, and Indian River were all glass. Top water plugs with minimal rattle are performing very well. Small prop baits worked very slowly tend to be working well. Both of these are working well in the shallower flats. Bait pods are thick in the deeper waters of the lagoons, where there’s plenty of Tarpon, Jacks, and Ladyfish circling underneath. The fish are moving around quite a bit following this bait.

Soft plastic jerk baits and jigs are working well later in the day, as well as live pigfish and cut baits. The nearshore bite has been pretty consistent. Lots of sharks, bonitos, tarpon, and mackerel around. A little bit further off around the 50 to 90 ft depths, the cobia and king mackerel are still pretty good. Around sand rolls, there’s not as many fish as there are around hardreefs and structures.

Not a whole lot of dolphin offshore, but on the other side of the Gulfstream, about 75 miles off, highspeed trolling has been bringing in some tuna.
