Sebastian Inlet to Eau Gallie Fishing Report: June 2015

I really expected the bite to turn on strong on the beach last month and we did have some good days but it was very inconsistent. June should be the start of consistency for Beach and Inlet fishing. Tarpon, Snook Redfish and Jacks should all be a solid bet along the beaches and in the inlet the month of June. Fish the bait Pods from Sebastian inlet north to Melbourne Beach and all the way to Port Canaveral for Tarpon, Sharks and Jacks. Hogy Eels and Rapala XRap 14s will work well on the Tarpon, Jacks and Sharks. Fish the Hogys deep and the XRaps for the fish staying close to the surface. Snook will be in the trough close to the beaches hanging on the bait pods as well. Best bet for the snook is live bait. Greenies, Pinfish and Pigfish rigged on a 6/0 VMC circle hook will all produce snook.Jun 1st, 2015

Sebastian Inlet to Eau Gallie Fishing Report: January 2014

Last January the flounder bite was better in January than earlier because the colder temps pushed them in Sebastian Inlet. This winter has been similar to last year so anglers should expect the flounder to be moving around the same time. Fish with live finger mullet on a short 20lb leader and a sliding sinker just heavy enough to keep the bait on the bottom. Fish near the channel edges or on the edges of the rocks along the shoreline on the north and south sides of the inlet. Anglers wanting to jig for flounder can use a 1/2oz to 3/4oz bucktail or soft plastic bait with a paddle tail with a filet of mullet or pinfish. Jig the sandy bottom in the inlet to pick up good numbers of flounder in January. Dec 30th, 2014

Sebastian Inlet to Eau Gallie Fishing Forecast: Sept. 2014

September 1 starts snook season and there is no better place in the state to catch snook then Sebastian Inlet. Anglers fishing in boats and shore bound anglers can fish both the north and south jetties day and night. Daytime outgoing tide is good to fish the tips of both jetties with live pinfish, pigfish, mojarra and croakers.Aug 25th, 2014

Sebastian to Eau Gallie Fishing Report: August 2014

August is a fantastic month to fish Sebastian to Melbourne. The bait pods are on the beach and the mullet run should start mid-end of August and bring tarpon, sharks and a number of other species up in the surf all along the space coast beaches and should fire up the trout, reds and snook inshore and in the creeks.Jul 30th, 2014

Sebastian Inlet to Eau Gallie Report: July 2014

Sebastian Inlet is a great place to fish in July. Snook and redfish are spawning and the jacks are chewing anything they can get a hold of. We like to fish live bait along the jetties as well as drift the inlet day or night for great action throughout the entire month. A live pinfish rigged on a 5/0 VMC circle hook and 50lb fluoro leader will do the trick during the month.Jun 29th, 2014

Sebastian Inlet to Eau Gallie Causeway Fishing Report: May 2014

We had another long winter and the winds are still blowing in the middle of April. There is some bait around outside the inlet and we have seen and caught some tarpon already. If we can just get rid of the cold fronts and let that bait stay around, the action will be consistent and this is the month it will happen. The big jack crevalle, little tunny (bonito) and tarpon should be roaming the beaches. The snook and some redfish bite at the jetty has started a little early and will continue through the month of May with good catches in the evening and daytime on live pinfish rigged on a 5/0 VMC Circle hook and 50lb leader. Night time anglers have been getting some snook and reds on bucktails in the evening. May 1st, 2014
