August in Naples is a great time for lake fishing, as well as saltwater fishing. Recently we have been exploring in the Gheenoe Lowtide 25. It only fits 3, so it’s a squeeze, but it can take us to some of the most remote fishing spots. It’s felt more like an episode of Fish or Die lately! Some of the creeks we have been tackling haven’t been accessed in years, but with the right tides and gear we have been able to get to some incredible spots. Southwest Florida is home to an extremely unique fishing habitat with the mangroves and the 10,000 Islands. We have been going day by day, exploring each one and pushing it to the limits. Let me just say it’s extremely rewarding to fish these untouchable places. The fish I’ve seen are some of the biggest snook and redfish and the micro-tarpon have been countless. Living in Naples definitely has its perks; the water has been beautiful and visibility has been wonderful. We definitely get to fish in paradise. It’s Back to School for some this month and hopefully everyone had a great summer!
