It’s tournament season and there are some new ones to put on the calendar!
The Freeport-Hudson Anglers, in conjunction with the Blue Water Yacht Club and AcQua Restaurant, are proud to announce the First Annual Freeport-Hudson Anglers Fluke Frenzy will be held Saturday, July 11.
Fishing will kick off at 6 a.m. with the weigh-in at 6 p.m. at the Blue Water Yacht Club and AcQua Restaurant, 1944 Bayberry Avenue in Merrick. There are no boundaries where you can fish, but you must be back at the Blue Water Yacht Club by 6 p.m., no exceptions.
The entry fee is $25 for the adult division (16 and over) and $10 for the children division (under 16). For every entry, $5 will be given to Send-A- Kid Fishing. A $25 and $50 calcutta will be offered to all.
The tournament is open to all anglers, if you have $25 and a rod you can fish this tournament. You can even catch ‘em with your bare hands. The only thing that matters is that you get back to the Blue Water Yacht Club with your fish by 6 p.m.
The Captain’s meeting will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at AcQua Restaurant and an awards ceremony at AcQua will follow the weigh-in at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The chefs at AcQua will also cook your catch. Refreshments will also be available.
