FSFA KLUB KNEWS

The FSFA held its annual COBIATHON intra-club tournament with the CFOA at Cape Marina in Port Canaveral on March 16th. This year the FSFA was victorious thanks to club member Nathan Grossman who caught a 24.7# cobia on South Pelican Flats. The fish was caught off a bait pod in 66 deg. water. There were about 35-40 participants between the two clubs. This year, the CFOA was the host club. They provided the food, and the raffle prize for the event. The rod and reel combo was won by FSFA President Steve Goff.

The April membership meeting will take us south to Melbourne this month. The meeting will be at Strike Zone on 192(a little west of the Melbourne Sq. Mall.) The guest speaker will be Capt. George Poveromo. We will be getting started around 6:45. Food and beverages are provided by the FSFA however donations are appreciated. We are expecting a large turn-out, so we recommend you come a little early. The date for this meeting is April 23rd.

As always, our meetings are open to the public. PENN fishing and Strike Zone have teamed up to make this happen for the FSFA members.
ALSO…the FSFA will have a booth at the 4th Annual CAM/EXPO at Boater’s Exchange in Rockledge. Please make a point attend this event. There will be vendors, raffles, food, beverages and some great speakers to give you tips on items from Surf Casting to Offshore. The gates open at 9:00am. The FSFA will be offering a special drawing for new members who sign up that day! (We will be having a similar offer at the April membership meeting.) So, if you know someone who has been holding off on joining the FSFA, April 13th could be a great day to sign up.

In May, our meeting will be back at the Veterans Center, and it will be our annual pre-SLAM roundtable where we invite a number of excellent local Captains to come in and conduct a Q&A seminar to give our members tips on the upcoming club tournament. The dates for the 45th Annual Offshore Slam will be June 7th (Captains Party/EXPO @ Kiwanis Island) and we fish on June 8th at Sunrise Marina in Port Canaveral. There is more info available on the website.

As always feel free to contact me, a BOD member, or go to our website www.fsfaclub.org and join us on FaceBook. We are a family club, and we welcome the opportunity to welcome you.
