One of the best times of the year for inshore and flats fishing is October. I love to fish every day and every week and every month of the year but if I had to choose one month as the BEST, it would be October. Why? Because of the temperature here in East Grand Bahama is great for the fish and the fisherman. Not like the warmer summer months where the fish are in large schools and because of the heat they move into deeper water. This makes them harder to find, but in October, the fish are all over the flats tailing. Bonefish, jacks, mutton snapper, permit, sharks and many other hungry fish all feeding and very happy. This is a great time for inshore no matter what style of fishing you do. For those who love to wade, this is a great time. The bonefish are high up on the flats.

If you use a fly rod or spin-rod, live bait or flies—you can have it your way. There is so much to fish for, and many ways to fish, but it is all about what makes you happy. If you are a beginner, do not worry about that. Get the gear of your choice and go from there. We are very happy to teach you what you need to know to have the best Bahamian fishing experience on Grand Bahama Island.
