Hot And Wet Month

August was another hot and wet month. We have been seeing a lot of smaller bass so that is a good sign. Some nice bluegill and a few nice shellcrackers have been caught too but they are scattered. The new vegetation is starting to grow back and the water is up so things are starting to look pretty good on Lake Panasoffkee.
September Best Bets: Barring any abnormal tropical events this September I would expect the yearling bass fishing to be pretty good. We had an excellent hatch of bass last winter and it is starting to show. These small bass are getting a little bigger every day and I expect good things to come in the future. The Pan-fishing should be OK but you may have to work a little harder than normal with the water being up and a little darker. It should start cooling off a little so that will be nice too. Bottom line is, the lake and river are absolutely beautiful right now so don’t miss out on the opportunity to just be out there enjoying what they have to offer.
