The water came up quite a bit in August and the bass fishing was good. The top water action was really good with a lot of 2 to 3 lb. and an occasional 6 plus pounder Fish. Pop-N-Images Zara Spook Jr’s and rapala’s produced some really nice fish. The bluegill action was good last month as well.

September best bets: With the water quality and oxygen levels being real good for this time of year, I expect the bass fishing to continue on. Plastic baits in the Watermelon Red and Christmas colors will be productive as well as spinner baits and buzz baits. The grass is far enough below the surface to really take advantage of them as well as top water plugs. Worms and crickets will work well for the panfish in the lake but I would also try throwing a beetle spin in the creeks and Outlet for some nice stump knockers and red bellies.

Just beat the heat and try some early morning and late evening fishing.
