The Marine Industries Association of Collier County (MIACC) is a nonprofit group dedicated to boater safety, boater education and preserving access to Florida’s waterways since its inception in 1981. The MIACC represents its members, the local marine business and the recreational boater, to the government. It is their commitment to the public to preserve the right to safe and fun boating. The MIACC encourages its members to put in place environmental business practices that will prevent pollution and damage to our coastal waters, thus protecting boaters’ enjoyment of healthy waterways and ensuring a sustainable future for the environment and the marine industry.
MIACC’s partnership with the community through industry events serves as a platform to educate boaters about safety and enjoyment of the water. MIACC is responsible for organizing the annual Naples Boat Show(s), Marco Boat Show, Kids Free Fishing Clinic at the Naples Pier, and the Christmas Boat Parade on Naples Bay.
Through donations and volunteer work, the MIACC and its foundation also supports Paradise Reef, CCSO Build-A-Boat, Freedom Waters Foundation, Leadership Collier, Friends of Rookery Bay, Junior Deputy, Keep Collier Beautiful, Naples Community Sailing Regatta, Kids Don’t Float Life Jacket Loaner Program, the Ricky King Fund and many other great local organizations and events.
Through an alliance with the Marine Industries Association of Florida, membership in the MIACC offers direct access to advance information on Florida’s marine industry and access to the legislative forces and full-time lobbyists that shape its destiny.
The MIACC is organized by an executive director, Tiffany Sawyer-Schank and a nine member board of directors, including President Frank Perrucci of the Naples Boat
Club; Vice President Chris Burkard of Burkard Yacht Sales; Treasurer Josh Maxwell of Turrell, Hall & Associates; Secretary Stephen Strassel of the Naples Princess; Past President Kit Sawyer of Sawyer’s Marina; Director Russ Burland of Hilton Naples; Director Ray Jahn of Fish Tale Sales; Director Jim Kalvin of Kalvin & Calvin Marine Construction; and Director Dan Mercier, Sr. of Sea Tow Naples.
