[dropcap]O[/dropcap]ctober is my favorite month to fish. The weather is finally cooler and the fishing is most excellent in October! Big bull redfish are running in the St. Joe Bay! They can be caught around navigation markers by dropping live shrimp down to the bottom and slowly reeling back up. Reds can’t resist Blue crabs, and I use live Blue crabs when I can get them, otherwise I use Gulp plastic crabs. I have also been catching flounder in the canal on an outgoing tide using bull minnows. There is still plenty of Sheep head to be had in the canal too, and I’m catching them on live shrimp. Pompano are starting to show up on the beaches. I use sand fleas combined with fresh dead shrimp and then hang on for the fight!
