Mobile / Dauphin Island Sept 2019

Capt. Charlie Gray

Well the school bell has rung for kids but not for the inshore fish around Dauphin Island. The trout bite is hot now and will stay hot for the foreseeable future. We are still mostly fishing with live shrimp under popping corks or slip corks around the bay rigs and near shore reefs. All are loaded with speckled and white trout along with a mixture of other species like Spanish mackerel and red and black drum. These spots are accessible from boats and kayaks too. You can also use plastic shrimp and minnow imitation baits on the reefs like Matrix Shad or Vudu shrimp in a variety of their popular colors or hard baits like the yo-zuri pencil crank baits in natural colors. If you’re down our way and are fishing and need advice or help, please feel free to text or call and I’ll answer as I can when my hands are reel free!

We have some openings in September so, if you’re interested in booking a trip, look me up. You call me, you talk to and fish with me. I’m all local. Stop wishing, let’s go fishing!
