December is a beautiful month to fish the flats of Nassau. Cool days and nights will bring large numbers of fish on to the flats and shots at double digit fish are very common. The cooler water will make the fish very active and once on the line will fight extra hard. We still recommend a nine weight rod for these fish and tan shrimp patterns tied on #4 hooks. We will get prevailing winds from the northeast now, which makes the south side of the island the best place to be protected from the wind. The south side of the island has 20 miles of bay flats that make for a great day trip while in Nassau. Enjoy Nassau flats fishing at its best!
