New Take on Camo

Marine organisms have developed an endless array of methods for becoming invisible. Camouflage keeps prey from being eaten, but also keeps predators from being seen.  Brands such as Reeltree and TrueTimber have given hunters the advantage in the woods, but anglers lack options. Clothing companies have finally taken notice, and a couple of new products are becoming standard equipment for anglers everywhere.

For the past couple of months I’ve had the privilege of field-testing the latest and greatest, and I wanted to share with you two of my favorites.

Flyin’ the Flats makes this 85%poly/15% cotton blend longsleeve T, and it’s one of the most comfortable shirts I’ve ever worn. This moisture-wicking blend keeps you cool in the lowcountry heat and works great as a base layer when temperatures drop.

Icebreaker Merino’s LOFT Helix Zip Hood is a great lightweight jacket for chilly lowcountry mornings. The outer shell is water resistant, and the premium wool lining keeps you warm and dry throughout the day.
