April will be a great month for catching several species in North Eleuthera, namely mahi-mahi, rock grouper and yellowfin tuna.

We have caught some mahi-mahi in March, but April will be the best month for this species, which can be caught at various points, such as Dutch Bar, Shallow Ground and Middle Bar. They can be caught with various lures, but also live bait, which I prefer. April will also be great for rock grouper, which can be caught outside the reef in depths of 50 to 90 feet. This species can be caught using a jig or trolling diving lures. April will also be a great for yellowfin tuna, which can be caught at the three bars mentioned above. Bait of choice is live bait, but you may also hook them up trolling with various lures.
