North Eleuthera Offshore Fishing Forecast – May 2011

May is one of the best months for fishing offshore in North Eleuthera waters.

May is one of the best months for fishing offshore in North Eleuthera waters. Dorado are moving in and yellowfin tuna are showing up in large numbers for the late evening bite. Increasing numbers of sailfish are being caught as bait fish move into the area with the sails following.

My advice on the hottest lures would be Islander Lures. The best color combinations seem to be blue and white or green and white. When trolling, look for rips (converging currents), weed lines and color changes. Looking for porpoise and birds working the bait fish on the surface will almost always assure game fish are nearby.

Calm wind patterns should be setting up for the next several months so you days offshore should be pleasant, productive and lots of fun
