Panacea October Fishing Report

Pic #1- Colby Ackerman caught this nice 23″ 3.48lb trout on a bone One-Knocker Spook near St.Marks Lighthouse.
Pic #2-Patty Eanniello has a nice 21 inch flounder
that ate a mud minnow.
Pic #3-The manatees are showing up so keep your eyes peeled.

Lots of rain and heat makes for a sauna while on the water but the fish are still around ready to play.
When things get tough inshore it’s time to move offshore and drop dead or live baits down to chase red grouper, gags, cobia, kingfish and sharks. Gag grouper are only open in Federal waters so make sure you go far enough South.  Most fish will be in water from 40- 60 feet.

If you want to stay in state waters around 15- 22 feet fish structure or live bottom. Flounder and sea bass with cooperate especially if you can get live shrimp or mud minnows.

As we move down from 88 degree water temperatures, things should start heading toward the fall pattern. Inshore fish will get more active on flats.

Be aware of the sun, take a kid fishing, and be safe!
