Long Island Bass Pro
Welcome Bass Pro, look out Connecticut, and here come the windmills…
Look out Connecticut! Mike and I are pleased to announce that we will be adding Connecticut to our small family of Rhode Island and Long Island Coastal Angler Magazines! Connecticut has been without its own edition since its new owner got ill and had to retire early last year. We are in the process of buying it and couldn’t be happier to bring access to Coastal Angler on the Connecticut Shoreline!
One of our new anchor advertisers – who make this all possible – is Bass Pro Shops. If you have never been in a Bass Pro Shop – especially the Outdoor World version – you need to walk, run, ferry or drive there just for the experience. Take the family, it’s like Disneyworld for anglers and hunters only you get to take the cool stuff home with you at really reasonable cost.
Did you know they make and sell Mako boats? And they have some end of season deals that captivated Mike. Had to drag him out. Stop in and speak with BJ and his team about any of the boats that catch your fancy. They are offering winterization, storage and more. Stop by and speak with DJ!
This new Bass Pro Outdoor World is anchoring the whole waterfront development by the Bridgeport – Port Jeff Ferry by exit 28 on 95. There will be restaurants and more on the water, and exciting new destination. We are thrilled to be working with Bass Pro to bring you news of their specials and exciting events at seminars – all free to you!
As you know, we have been following and covering the new Block Island Wind Farm which comes on line in coming weeks. We will be on Block next weekend and hope to get the real scuttlebutt. However, in the meantime be sure to reach out to your congressmen to be sure that Rhode Island and Long Island fishermen take part in the job creation that comes with maintaining these colossal turbines. These are good, year round jobs and we want them to go to you, not new folks they will bring into the state – more to come on this….
BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE…as we mentioned last month, while we will continue to distribute Coastal Angler FREE of CHARGE through outfitters, airports, libraries, local hot spots and more in Long Island. You don’t have to leave the comfort of your recliner to get your copy hot off the presses.
We need to get a groundswell of subscribers to kick this all off.
Please reach out with your rants, raves, comments…still a work in progress, but we are working hard to bring you the best.
Tight lines!
