“Surf ’s Up Dude”…in the Bahamas that is! The month of October gave the guys in the Lower Bahamas something to be stoked on. Surfers in Rum Cay reported several days of chest to head high barrels on the north coast along with a few epic days at the famous “Sandy Point” break on the northwest point.
On the flat days in between, we have been scoring plenty of sessions on our paddleboards cruising around the many scenic reefs and estuaries the Lower Bahamas has to offer, occasionally bringing our fishing rods and free-dive gear to add a new, greener element to reaching our reefs and catching some dinner.
Moving into November and December, we can look forward to some cooler temperatures and northeasterly fronts that bring plenty of wind and waves. With water temperatures still not below 80 degrees, I have a feeling that we won’t be slipping into our rubbers until late December.
