Charleston Waterkeeper is proud to host the Fifth Annual Water Ball on May 22nd at the South Carolina Aquarium from 7 to 11 pm. The event will highlight the role water plays in the Charleston community through live music, food prepared by some of the nation’s most esteemed chefs, and art inspired by our city’s landscape.
In an evening dedicated to clean water, attendees will sip libations and enjoy fare featuring a product from or inspired by Charleston’s waterways developed by the region’s most talented chefs and culinary stars, while dancing the night away to an array of musical talent. Guests are invited to leave their mark at Water Ball on the “water machine,” by threading a ribbon through a loom. This interactive work of art brings to life the mission of Charleston Waterkeeper, visually capturing a community of passionate water defenders joining forces in celebration of the Charleston Harbor Watershed.
In four short years the Water Ball has entertained over 1,500 guests and contributed $60,000 to Charleston Waterkeeper’s data-driven programs. With an expected 500 attendees this year’s Water Ball is anticipated to be the best yet. Tickets can be purchased for $85 in advance at thewaterball.org.
