In June 2025, the District completed Phase 1 of the North Jetty Revetment Improvement Project, rebuilding and improving 210 feet of the jetty. The North Jetty Improvement Project – Phase 2 and 3 continues the rehabilitation of the Sebastian Inlet North Jetty structure. Phases 2 and 3 portions of the project entail:
- Installation of 48 pre-stressed concrete piles
- Placement of concrete beams
- Construction of new jetty decking
- Installation of 2,400 tons of granite armor stone
The Sebastian Inlet Commission awarded the project to Shoreline Foundation, Inc. Construction is anticipated to begin in January 2027, at which time the north jetty will be closed to the public for safety reasons. The project is anticipated for completion in July 2028.
