[dropcap]M[/dropcap]ike, Travis, Cody and I were hunting up in northwest Florida near the Georgia state line. As we walked along a ridge late one evening, we came across a huge hole. It was about fifty feet across, and we couldn’t see the bottom, so the boys started throwing rocks in to see if we could hear them hit the bottom. We couldn’t hear a thing, so we looked around for something bigger to throw in. We spotted a rusty transmission from an old truck, so Mike and I dragged it to the hole and chunked it in. All of a sudden a loud crashing noise came through the brush from behind us; it was a big white Billy-goat! That goat was at full speed heading straight for the hole! It dove head first right into the bottomless pit. We looked at each other with amazement and said, “Whoa, did you see that goat”?
A few minutes later, this farmer came walking up and asked us if we had seen his goat. I said, “Yes, we did see this crazy goat which came out of nowhere running full speed, and it dove head first right into that hole!” The farmer looked me straight in the eye and said, “No no, that couldn’t have been my goat, I had my goat tied to a transmission”.
