Lake Seminole bass fishing has been exceptional. It’s still taking well over 20 lbs. to win tournaments here. The grass is finally beginning to grow and is providing great cover for the bait fish, so that’s where you’ll find the BIG BASS feeding on them. There is a great early morning top-water bite using a Strike-King Tour Grade Buzz bait in Chartreuse and White, and there’s no feeling like getting a big bass explosion on that bait. You can use that when there is good cloud cover too, or you can use a Strike-King Premier Pro Model spinner bait in Blue Glimmer Shad. There has been success in the evenings with the Strike King KVD Sexy Frog.
Down at Wingate’s Lunker Lodge, the crickets and worms are going like hotcakes due to the bream, shellcrackers, and catfish bite. We’ve seen some great catches coming across the docks. Several are being caught off the fishing dock in Bass Island Campground; unfortunately the only people who are allowed to fish there are guests of Wingate’s Lodge. Might be a good time for a camping trip!
