Cobia: Fair. Captain Dan “Fishin’ Coach” Utley (843-757-2126) reports that the cobia bite is slowing inshore, and based on history the best inshore places to fish should be near the mouth of the sound. As more and more sharks arrive they will eat the bait and keep the remaining cobia from having a chance to get to it, but the bite should stay decent at the Betsy Ross for the next couple of weeks.
Trout and redfish are being caught on mud minnows and DOA shrimp fished under a rattling cork. When redfish are found they are aggressively eating mud minnows and cut mullet.
