Abaco Dive Forecast – April 2013

With the mild winter and calmer than normal sea conditions, the transition to spring has been unnoticeable in Abaco this year. April air temperature continues to rise, ranging from 69-to 81-degrees, skies are sunny and there is a relatively low chance of precipitation. Flowers are in full bloom. Water temperature is also on the way up, averaging 78 degrees. Visibility seems endless and there is little, if any, current. The crystal clear water provides the perfect opportunity to see sharks, turtles and spotted eagle rays as they cruise along the reef. You may even catch a glimpse of a manta ray or two on their migration north. Coral heads are alive with tropical fish – and it’s always a thrill to see a green or spotted moray eel peeking out from a crevice within one. For many fish and crawfish (lobster), it is mating season. The April full moon is known at the ‘Pink Moon’. This year, the full moon occurs at 3:58 p.m. on April 25th, and, as always, it’s an exhilarating experience to go night-diving. Whether you are a novice, experienced, sport or adventurous diver, Abaco has something to offer.

Come… let us show you why It’s Better in the Bahamas, but It’s Best in Abaco!
