Snook Fishing Sebastian Inlet

The mullet run will help all aspects of fishing both inside and outside Sebastian Inlet. The brightest spot I see in the fishing future is snook. Although the snook population took a hard hit during the freezes of 2010, numbers of snook showed a marked increase in the Sebastian area this summer.Aug 26th, 2013

Longpoint Park To Beachline Inshore Fishing Report: Sept 2013

The redfish and trout bite in the Banana River has been strong on the flats north of Pineda, throughout the thousand islands and on the bombing range in the north part of the river. Aug 26th, 2013

Surf Fishing For Snook

September 1st is the annual opening of Snook Season and the surf angler’s best shot of taking a legal snook home for dinner. With the opening of the season and the observed amount of bait fish in the surf, this is a “can’t miss” opportunity.Aug 26th, 2013

Cape Canaveral Offshore Fishing Forecast: Sept 2013

September already, where has the year gone? Before you know it, we will be breaking out the offshore trolling gear for the mahi run. What can we expect for this month besides the heat and humidity? Bait, and lots of it.Aug 26th, 2013

Mosquito Lagoon Fishing Report: Sept 2013

Yes, redfish spawning occurs in the Mosquito Lagoon, too, and the deep waters of Tiger Basin is a known breeding area, at least by our local marine biologists. It seems as our local fishing community ignores this fact and concentrates their efforts on the Indian River Lagoon. Aug 26th, 2013

Shrimp Report: Sept 2013

The keyboard is silent. Its like a newsroom with no news. July-August summer shrimping was NOT fair to us Central Floridians, and our summer chase is late. In 2012, anglers were squealing with buckets full of delight around the first week of July. Aug 26th, 2013

Sebastian Offshore Fishing Forecast: Sept 2013

Well summer is slowly fading away and so are the summer fish. I look for the waters to start cooling off a few degrees and that should bring the migrating fish back south. I would start looking for the cobia and sailfish to start moving south even though we have had a very strong bite on them all summer long. Aug 26th, 2013

Banana River Lagoon Fishing Report: Sept 2013

Temperature of the Banana River Lagoon will dictate what the fish are going to do this month. Last year the water temperatures soared into the lower 90 degree range during the first two weeks of the month. This pushed the majority of the redfish and trout off the flats and into the deeper residential canals where the water was slightly cooler. Aug 26th, 2013

Canaveral Fishing Forecast: Sept 2013

The fall mullet run should start around the first week of the month in conjunction with the new moon that is due on the 5th. This should get the mullet moving along the beaches and holding near troughs by the tip of Cape Canaveral and also near the jetties at the entrance of the Port. Aug 26th, 2013

N. Indian River Lagoon Fishing Forecast: Sept 2013

The redfish breeding season is typically most active in September and October. Some fish will get an earlier start while some will linger into November. There are no hard and fast rules as to exactly when, where or how often an active spawn will take place. It is common belief that New Moon and Full Moon phases dictate the most activity. I personally believe this to be true even in our land-locked and non-tidal area.Aug 26th, 2013
