July was a blistering hot month for me and I tried to fish only the early (6-10am) mornings. I would say we had expectable fishing from all reports. Sharks, bull whiting, sheepshead and croakers were in the surf. Mornings broke on calm seas, blue water, light winds and humidity in the high double digits. After July’s inconsistent fishing, I’m not sure exactly what to say. The thermal cline seemed to come and go daily. We saw 8/9-degree daily temperature changes along with a mix of both clean and funky colored water. It made it a tough month. Brevard - Chris CameronJul 26th, 2013

Tarpon have started showing up on the beach in pretty good numbers this past week. While King Mackerel have been absent lately, they seem to have finally returned to this part of the world. A little further offshore, Dolphin are starting to show up.captjimrossJul 23rd, 2013

You did not hear it from me but the brown winter shrimp are large and in charge in South Brevard County. This is the time of year where walking the planks (standing on piers & bridges) is trending in the Melbourne area. The popular Eau Gallie Bridge (US 192), Mather's Bridge, Pineda Causeway and the Bennet Causeway (SR 528 ) are producing some ginormous shrimp in June. Let me caution you, many bridge shrimpers quit early in the night out of frustration just to find out the gates opened up at o' crack tweet producing a full pull of mammoth size shrimp.
