Charleston Fly Fishing

DSCF3716-2a

Rolled up onto the flat at first light to find redfish backs and tails thrashing all around us. Birds crashed down into the water hoping to pick up the scraps. The feeding frenzy lasted for the first hour and we were able to get fish to eat epoxy shrimp and gold spoon flies. As the reds gathered into schools numbering well into 30-40 fish range, we switched over to the humble chartreuse/white clouser minnow pattern and would hook a fish on every pass. Amazing sight fishing on the flyrod.
