Longpoint Park to Beachline Inshore

Turkey Creek, Crane Creek and the Eau Gallie River are full of Jacks, Trout and Ladyfish. We have been getting most of the trout and jacks on Rapala Subwalk 7 lures in Gold. The ladyfish will eat anything you throw their way. There are Snook in the creeks towards the back of the creeks around docks and oyster bars. Finger mullet have been best or the Subwalk in Gold and the MR17 Mirrolure in 808 color (Black back-Orange belly). The Sheephead and Black Drum have been around the Oyster Bars in the creeks and inside the inlet on Rockpiles. We have been doing well with Live shrimp rigged on a jighead.

Fish the Indian River docks near Rockledge for big Trout using 5” jerk baits and Rapala Subwalk 7. Target the docks holding mullet. Fish the baits slow and low. There is no need to get on the water early, wait till the sun comes up and the waters warm. This is the time of the year where an afternoon trip will be a good one! The Bomb Range flats will be holding schools of Small trout and Redfish. 3” Paddletail baits from TriggerX as well as Mirrolure and DOA are all good baits to use.

Fish the bridges for some good action from Sheephead, Mangrove Snapper, Drum and the juvenile Grouper. Live Shrimp and Fiddler Crabs are great baits to use fort the Snapper, Sheephead and Drum. Shrimp and Pinfish are the best baits for Grouper. Rig the Shrimp and Crabs on 3/8oz jigheads and the Pinfish on 5/0VMC Tournament Circle hooks.

The Pompano Bite should be good from Longpoint to the South end of Mullet Creek and off hog point at the north end of Grant. Doc’s Goofy jigs are great baits and the Blues and Spanish are on the bait pods around the spoil islands and on the flats that are holding bait.
