A message from our publisher:

W e are psyched again! This issue of Coastal Angler Magazine Long Island contains so much great edit, new ads, and more that we have grown from 12 -16 pages. Next month likely to hit 20 and keep on growing. Thanks to you, our readers and advertisers who are driving this growth.

The increase in advertisers has allowed us to bring on Long island’s own Tom Schlichter as a featured writer. You will find 2 new stories each month, written expressly for Coastal Angler readers, that you will not find elsewhere. Check out his story on page 8 and our first destination piece on “Destination Northport” – page 4. Welcome aboard to one of Long Island’s most loved outdoor enthusiast writers! He joins Zach Harvey, noted Master of the Fish-geist, and our own Tommy Kampa who spends his days on the sound, and shares the inside information exclusively with our readers.

Speaking of stories you will not find elsewhere, check out the feature on our friend Maria Maroni and her “Reel Queens.” These Long island anglers are passionate, and definitely giving the men a run for their money – page 7. We’ll be stopping by to visit her hubby Mike at our favorite restaurant, Maroni’s Cuisine in Northport, soon. Don’t miss our regular teen angler story by the great kids of Ward Melville High School – page 13.
