During the month of October, the three top species that anglers will be seeking in North Eleuthera waters are yellowfin tuna, wahoo, and goldeneye red snapper.

Yellowfin can be caught at Dutch Bar, Shallow Ground Bar or Pinnacle Point. The best way to target them is with either live bait such as pilchards or trolling using X-Raps or ballyhoo with artificial skirts.

As the water starts to cool down this month, the annual migration of wahoo will start. This is a very exciting time to look forward to for some great fishing. These speedsters can be caught with live bait or skirts with ballyhoo. Remember to crank up your trolling speed.

October is also an excellent month for goldeneye red snapper, which can be caught in depths of 265 feet or deeper using squid and an electric reel.

Also if you are looking for live bait, come and see me for pilchards and fry by the scoop or the drum.
