[dropcap]D[/dropcap]eep dropping has seen tremendous success in recent weeks, and we expect this to continue until the cooler water makes its way south. Mystic and yellow-eye groupers are filling the box between 350 and 400 feet and taking squid.
Fishing along the Exuma Sound will start to see improvement for trolling once we get into early November as the cooler waters make their way south. This will bring the wahoo bite up with a few mahi-mahi and black fin tuna mixed in. Be equipped with 30-and-50-pound reels along with 30-to-50-pound test line. A majority of the success lately has been using artificial lures and frozen ballyhoo.
Most of the action in South Eleuthera is south towards the Bridge, a natural underwater bridge connecting South Eleuthera and little San Salvador. Another good spot is Tommy’s Pointe off of the Schooner Cays to the north. And if the bite is slow, dive the shallow reefs close to shore for some lobster.
