Sun Air International, a Ft. Lauderdale based regional airline, announces the expansion of its scheduled flight service from Ft. Lauderdale into the Bahama Islands with three new destinations: Cat Island (New Bight Airport), Eleuthera (Rock Sound Airport), and Andros (Andros Town Airport).
Sun Air International has been serving Chub Cay and Great Harbour Cay in the Bahamas for four years, along with on demand charter flights throughout Florida and the Bahamas. Along with its expansion plans to serve the three new airports, Sun Air will increase its frequency into Great Harbour Cay from two to four frequencies per week.
âSun Air is very excited with this new expansion into these under-served markets,â said Tom Cooper, President of Sun Air. âWe have visited these markets, met with the local citizens, the owners and managers of the area resorts and business persons. The enthusiasm with which we were met gives comfort to our decision to fly to their communities and we look forward to working with them for our mutual success.â
Extraordinary diving and fishing are available at all of these locations, providing many opportunities for unparalleled vacation experiences, and only one hour away by air. Sun Air is also examining the possibility of other markets on the island of Andros, including San Andros and Congo Town, destinations that would be particularly inviting to fishermen and divers.
Sun Airâs reservations system gives the customer the capability of booking on line with little hassle along with providing access to its schedules by other airlines and travel agents worldwide. The airline will also offer discount packages, âSun Air Saversâ for the frequent flyersâ convenience. The airline operates a fleet of 8-passenger Piper aircraft and all flights depart from the Commuter Terminal at Ft. Lauderdale, located on the lower level of Terminal 4.
