lients have been enjoying the active bite in the 'goon even though the wind has been a bit blustery. Top-water plugs and Exude soft plastics have been effective as we set up near massive schools of mullet on the shallows. Brevard EditionNov 4th, 2013
Last month was kind of tough. We had bad winds on and off that caused rough seas and dirty water. For over a week it was muddy out to 240â. Needless to say, fishing was terrible. One thing we did have was the start to an awesome mullet run. Mullet were in the millions from the docks of Bluepoints Marina and up and down the beaches. We should continue to see large schools of mullet throughout this month.Brevard - Chris CameronOct 25th, 2013
October lived up to all the hype and excitement for great surf fishing. Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach, Melbourne Beach and South had all the action any surf angler could ask for and then more. A good number of mornings we stood on the crossover and watched sharks, tarpon, jacks and other finned species feeding on threadfin herring, menhaden and finger mullet as they streamed past our location. The neighbor hooked up twice on big tarpon while surf fishing from the beach before he started using his kayak to chase them down. He estimated his biggest tarpon at 80 to 90 pounds, now thatâs a big fish! Sorry but, once again I am sounding like a broken record, telling family, friends and clientsâ how great the fishing is year round on the Brevard County Beaches and October is the month that says it all. Brevard - John DetmerOct 25th, 2013
As the cold fronts of November cool lagoon waters into the lower 70âs the numbers of resident and migratory species are at a peak and some of the best fishing of the year is possible. Letâs take a look at what youâre likely to find in the Sebastian area in November.Brevard EditionOct 25th, 2013
With the redfish spawn basically behind us what should we look forward to now? Cooler weather for sure and hopefully without too much wind. November is notoriously windy and signals a real transition in seasons and weather patterns. Brevard EditionOct 25th, 2013
Fall is in full swing on the space coast and the mullet run has been solid. Large schools of bait have been pushing through the lagoons and beaches with predators in tow. Capt. AlexOct 25th, 2013
Speckled trout are a top choice for anglers targeting the flats of this lagoon. The cooler water temperatures in November will bring the larger âgatorâ sized trout out of their summertime hiding spots. Noisy top water plugs like the Rapala Skitterwalk in the speckled trout or redfish color patterns are extremely effective in the shallows.captjimrossOct 25th, 2013
The month of October was a wild and dirty ride for most of us who ventured out. The weather was not very good at all for the month. I battled rain wind and anything else mother nature had. Brevard - Capt Douglas KaskaOct 25th, 2013
Angler Should continue to find schools of baitfish such as mullet, pilchards, and pogies working along the near-shore waters and along the surf zone of local area beaches. These baitfish will bring a host of predators along with them. Spanish Mackerel, bluefish, redfish, pompano, black drum, snook, and flounder are possible catches for anglers fishing from boats and from the shore when these schools of baitfish are present.captjimrossOct 25th, 2013
