Florida’s red snapper season will be 70 days long in 2023 and include both summer and fall dates. In early May, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced what he called the longest combined season since the state took control of red snapper management. The summer season will be 46 days, followed by a 24-day falls snapper season.

31-Inch Max Size Limit Implemented For Atlantic Stripers
All Atlantic states will be required to implement a 31-inch maximum size limit on striped bass after an emergency action was approved by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission. Effective immediately, the maximum size limit will continue through Oct. 28, 2023.

Pasco Bay Scallop Season Extended To 37 Days
Here’s some exciting news for Gulf Coast scallopers. This season’s bay scallop season will be extended from 10 days to 37 days in the Pasco Zone. The recreational bay scallop season for this area opens July 1 and closes Aug. 6, allowing harvest to begin during the weekend in advance of the Fourth of July holiday. These season dates also support a fun recreational opportunity for families as they occur before students return to Pasco County schools.
