Having spent the majority of my life in Florida and Georgia, I hate the cold. But kind of like backpacking, rowing a boat or a good sunburn, I will do anything to catch trout.Editorial StaffDec 18th, 2014

I just got back into deer hunting this season. Where I hunt on public land, the deer become wise very quickly after the season opener. If you’re on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi this December, take some time and see what breathtaking adventures we can offer you. This time of year the air is cool, but not cold. Without a doubt, Alberta, Canada’s Bow River is a world-class trout fishery. Glacier-fed and flowing more than 350 miles from the Canadian Rockies through the foothills and prairies of Alberta, it is big and scenic by the time it reaches the 50-mile section southeast of Calgary that author Jim McLennan called “the Blue Ribbon Bow.” It is here in this blue ribbon stretch that anglers flock to get in on some of the best brown and rainbow trout fishing in the world.
There’s a retro-movement taking place—a trend toward primitive hunting gear. Slings and polespears are used in places that do not allow trigger mechanisms.
