Notes from the Publishers
Here Comes the New Coastal Angler Magazine Rhode Island
What do you think? Weâre feeling really special this month. Even a bit glam!
You are holding in your hands the new and improved Coastal Angler which was born just one month or so ago by vote at the annual Coastal Angler Magazine Owners meeting. Publishers from around the country voted to cough up more money every month to kick your Coastal Angler up a notch, and have the quality of the paper and look be more in line with the quality of the content.
There was the obvious objection – âWhy pay more to dress it up if itâs free to readers?â There was a lot of grumbling about higher print and distribution costs (dang!) but in the end, the ayes prevailed and we coughed up the money for better covers and higher quality paper stock.
As we evolve the look to do justice to the sharp local content by Zach Harvey, Tom Schlichter, Dave Monti, our local captains and fishing club members, delicious Sea- to-Table recipes by my friend Julia Molino, and so much more, we will continue to build the brand and develop the other platforms.
BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE… as we mentioned last month, while we will continue to distribute Coastal Angler FREE of CHARGE through outfitters, airports, libraries, local hot spots and more in Rhode Island. You donât have to leave the comfort of your recliner to get your copy hot off the presses.
The subscription page is up on the website â I canât tell you how exciting it was to see the first subscribers find us on the first day, and watch the first $17.88 (PayPal gets their share) appear in our business PayPal account.
So we are up and running. Starting with the September, 2014 issue you will be able to be among the first subscribers to Coastal Angler Magazine for the bargain price of $18 for 12 months by going to our site and signing up through PayPal.
SUBSCRIBE HERE!
We need to get a groundswell of subscribers to kick this all off. So, all subscribers by October 1 will be entered to win a YETI COOLER, and the odds are definitely in your favor! This is the cooler of your dreams, so get those subscriptions entered â and get one for a friend who loves to fish Rhode Island waters but is not lucky enough to live here year-round!
Please reach out with your rants, raves, comments…still a work in progress, but we are working hard to bring you the best.
Tight Lines.
