$10K Top Prize At Muzzy Bowfishing Classic

The 17th annual Muzzy Classic bowfishing tournament, slated for April 23 and 24 at Lake Guntersville, Ala., is expected to be the largest tournament to date. This year’s tournament offers a first-place cash pay-out of $10,000, more waters to fish, up to four-person teams, and an even larger prize table. It is sure to be one of the largest bowfishing tournaments in the country.

The primary tournament is a big-20 format, in which teams will weigh in their heaviest stringer of 20 fish. Only one grass carp and five buffalo may be included in the tally. Teams can have up to three grass carp and 15 buffalo in the boat at any time. All legal species for the state fished will be accepted, but catfish will not be weighed or counted. In addition to the top three teams earning big-20 pay-outs, individual prizes will be awarded for the heaviest carp, longest gar, heaviest grass carp and the heaviest buffalo.

The tournament is open to teams of one to four members, with a $200 entry fee per boat. There will also be an optional “Big Fish Pot” that teams can enter in for an additional $25.
