Kayak Fishing Boondoggle

Kayak Fishing

Fontainebleau State Park, Louisiana

The Kayak Fishing Boondoggle, held just 30 minutes north of New Orleans, is a family-friendly, four-day event where you can camp, paddle, fish and hangout with people just like you. The Boondoggle is different than a fishing tournament in that it offers educational opportunities to participants through various workshops and demonstrations provided by participating exhibitors and vendors who also sell their products in the Boondoggle’s Vendor Village.

Enthusiasts wanting to learn more about kayak fishing are invited to join the educational workshops, product demonstrations, and the Vendor Village at Fontainebleau State Park this October, Columbus Day weekend.

Weekend festivities begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9 with vendor exhibits and continue through an early evening meet and greet, where a new kayak will be earned by the winner of a group game of rock, paper, scissors.

Sponsors donate prizes like paddling and fishing gear, accessories and even paddle craft like kayaks and canoes. The proceeds are donated to a local charity like Heroes on the Water, which helps our nation’s injured military personnel reintegrate with society through kayak fishing and the outdoors.

The Kayak Fishing Boondoggle is quickly gaining attention as a kayak angler’s preferred choice for fun, relaxation, learning and collaboration. A lot of great friendships and fishing experiences are created at the Boondoggle. Add food, music and lots of humor, and the Kayak Fishing Boondoggle is an event you don’t want to miss. Admission is $5. Visit www.KayakFishingBoondoggle.com.
