The deep rumble of the engines aboard the Double Trouble made me realize that one of my long-time kayak fishing dreams was finally coming true. We were headed out for two days of kayak fishing at the Chandeleur Islands. Hooking Blue Marlin in the Gulf off Venice, Louisiana
If you are saltwater fishing in blue water and live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast there’s two choices. Either you ride or drive to the blue water. Obviously, if the vessel is a sport fisher the choice has been made in advance, but if your boat can be trailered, well then I believe the term is road trip.
