READER FISHING REPORTS: Fort Pierce

Redfish

December 1 2016:  The recent winds and rain have the river stirred up and silty. Typically you will find your cleaner water in areas a farther away from the inlet that offer good protection from the wind.  Spending the time to locate better water conditions are well worth the effort in the catching department.

Redfish have been the theme for the past few weeks.  Harbor Branch, Queens Cove, and Round Island are all great areas to target reds, and trout.  Fishing around docks, grass bars, and mangroves will provide constant action.  The simplicity and effectiveness of a D.O.A. popping cork and shrimp is hard to beat.

The rough and windy condition are great for night time snook fishing.  Feathers, swimming plugs, and live bait fished around the tide changes are very effective ways target them. Heavy structure around North bridge, South bridge, and the turning basin are all prime night time spots for snook.

Tight lines!
