Fifteen junior anglers fished the Treasure Coast Casters’ bi-monthly ‘From the Shore’ Tournament in Fort Pierce on May 22, 2016, catching a variety of fish, including flounder, catfish, jacks, puffers a ribbon fish and a 2.7-pound stingray.
Jake Lee, a student of Liberty Baptist in Fort Pierce, took first place, catching a 1.10-pound catfish. Noah Westbury, a student of Manatee Elementary in Port St. Lucie, took second place, catching both a 13-ounce flounder and a ribbonfish. Dayton Franqui, a student of Oak Hammock in Port St. Lucie, placed third.
The tournaments biggest fish—the 2.7-pound stingray—was caught by Emmett Mounds, earning him a trophy and a goodie bag, plus a Fishing Center gift card.
All tournament anglers received a visor with the Treasure Coast Casters logo, donated by tournament volunteers Pat and Gwen.
