Coastal Angler Magazine now connecting The Bahamas to Florida’s Treasure Coast!

Coastal Angler Magazine – Bahamas co-publishers Gary and Misti Guertin are excited to announce the perfect marriage between the Islands of the Bahamas and Florida’s Treasure Coast. How? The duo is also now the copublishers of the Treasure Coast edition. Why? Because the Gulf Stream does not divide us, it connects us. For decades, boaters from points north (the U.S. East Coast) and west (the Gulf of Mexico) have made their way to the Treasure Coast area as the point from where they head to the northern Bahamas. Comprised of Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties, with the key cities of Vero Beach, Fort Pierce and Stuart, the region is literally the Gateway to the Bahamas for a vast majority of fishermen, sailors and cruisers. Through the management and co-publishing of these two local editions, Treasure Coast boaters and fishermen will now be able to know what is happening in the world of fishing, boating, diving and conservation in the Bahamas. The Bahamas “by island” fishing forecasts have been a hot item! Additionally, Bahamian businesses (resorts, marinas, destinations and more) will be able to reach this very targeted and important market on a very cost effective basis. This has never been possible, up until now.

A number of years ago, the term Flahama was coined as an expression of the unique relationships shared by the Islands of the Bahamas and Florida. We are connected in more ways than one can imagine. It was the vision of Gary and Misti to utilize every means possible to communicate and promote this belief. Through their weekly talk radio show Talkin’ Tourism, now in its fourth year, combined with the opportunity to co-publish the Treasure Coast and Bahamas edition of Coastal Angler Magazine, the vision has taken another giant step.

What does this mean for the Bahamas edition? It means that Bahamians will have the opportunity to learn more about this fabulous part of Florida, and may even want to trade in Fort Lauderdale or Orlando to plan a vacation on the Treasure Coast. For Bahamian businesses that wish to reach the Treasure Coast boating market, the union offers a cost-effective way to create awareness of your country, your island and your specific business. Coastal Angler looks forward to continuing its close relationship with the Ministry of Tourism to promote the Islands of the Bahamas, as well as the various island promotion boards and private sector to cross promote marine and related tourism opportunities.

We are proud to bring the Bahamas its own local edition of Coastal Angler Magazine and we look forward to maximizing the opportunities to work with our fellow tourism and marine partners on the Treasure Coast.
