While hunting season is in full swing and temperatures are dropping the fish continue to eat. The water temperature is well below 60 degrees in the bay and the gag grouper have moved to the shallows. Several reports of what would be limits of grouper have been caught and released in 18-20 feet of water around artificial reefs and hard bottom. The trout and redfish are headed inside and the bite continues at the creek mouths and moving up river toward the springs and warmer water. Live shrimp on a jig head and slow moving hard or so baits are catching nice stringers of trout and multiple sow trout over 20 inches. Redfish up to 40 inches have strained light tackle and helped to warm up a cold day. Dress warm and enjoy the short run from the ramp to the fish! Keep those rods bent and be safe!
