[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ello Anglers! All of us here at South Abaco Adventures are looking forward to the month of November. The water temperature have already cooled down and we are now starting to see a lot of bonefish schools on the flats. As a matter of fact, the months of November and December is the time when bonefish will gather for their annual spawning aggregations. We will start to see less permit on the flats due to the cooler water temperatures, but we caught several in October around the recently passed full moon. We are seeing a lot of yellowtail snappers and tarpon on the flats, as well as barracuda and the other usual suspects—lemon, nurse and reef sharks—which are also lurking
Our South Abaco Adventures team will target bonefish with 6-to-10 pound spinning gear and 8 or 9 weight fly rods. The spinning rods we will tip with small pieces of conch meat or shrimp. The barracuda with its sharp teeth along, along with lemon, nurse and reef sharks will be targeted with 15 to 20 pound spinning gear tipped with a green tube lure or a small piece of dead bait with a trace of wire and 5/0 hook.
The inshore waters will be trolled for cubera snapper, amberjack and yellowjacks in 10-to-15 feet of water. We will troll with 30 pound conventional gear using red and black skirts.
