This has been a great fishing season. We had some wind, but the fishing is still good, more wind then normal for May but not too much rain. That said, the wind was good in a way as it kept us cool as we hunted the fish. June is normally warmer than May, but it is still a great fishing month and the bonefish are still in large schools and still spawning. When the water gets too warm, the fish will move into deeper water. June is also a great time for permit fishing here in East Grand Bahama. We’ll see more permit come up on the flats in the warmer months. There is so much to fish for. If you don’t feel like fishing for bones or permit, you can do some bottom fishing or plug the channels for mutton, snapper, jack, grouper, barracuda, and more. I have introduced some of my people to plug fishing and they love it but it’s all about what turns you on when it comes to fishing. Keep the fun in the game.
