To Our Readers

So much has happened with your Coastal Angler Magazine Rhode Island in the few months since our last column. Circulation is booming.  We heard from Capt. Chris Hobe at Fish the World on Block Island that his copies went in 4 days! The CAM RI Facebook page has also exploded with more than 3200 likes. Captains and anglers alike are sending us eye- popping photos and video through the FB page for publication in print, the FB pages in both Long Island and Rhode Island, and the CAM website. They’re comparing notes and catches.  The FB page is being taken over by you, which is the point.

Two weeks ago we launched weekly fishing reports by Editor and Master of the Fish-geist Zach Harvey which are being downloaded from the CAM RI website by bait and tackle stores and linked to their sites for your convenience.  Captains are using them to increase the quality of their charters, and amateur anglers from all over the world who come to fish in Rhody waters are excited to get such valuable local knowledge.  We are really happy to be boosters for Rhode Island way beyond The Towers. Your FB page is enjoyed by folks from Pt. Judith to Singapore and around the world.  What do they have in common? They love to fish in Rhody waters.  Zach’s phone and email are lighting up with reports from longtime friends and fellow anglers who voraciously consume the weekly fishing reports every Friday.

Zach’s seasonal column on what makes an effective “Charter Match” has drawn great response from charter captains and their prospects alike.  When the right captain and crew are matched with the right anglers for the day, magic happens on the water and a long-term relationship begins.

And all of this is free to you, courtesy of our small but growing band of loyal advertisers who make this all possible. We cherish this group.  In addition to providing a powerful platform and wrapping their message in high quality edit with great photography, we are providing advertisers and folks who are considering it with access to the wisdom and guidance of Bob McGinnis, President of McGinnis Associates and results-oriented advertising guru.  He has crafted a webinar which will air on August 15th for Coastal Angler advertisers and prospects to help you make your dollars count with more effective ads which have real impact.  Tell your marketing folks that they should not miss this.  Better yet, if you make these decisions for your business, you should carve out the hour to participate.  It’s not a sales session to spread the glory of advertising in CAM (that’s our job) It’s about insight into making the dollars you decide to spend work harder and achieve the results you need.

There is more to come, especially video (Coastal Angler TV? Seriously. It’s in the works.) Please send us your thoughts, comments, raves, suggestions.  We are having a blast building this brand for Rhode Island anglers, those who love Rhode Island waters and the businesses which depend on it.  Contact us directly at lisad@coastalanglermagazine.com to register for the complimentary webinar on results-based advertising or just to share your thoughts.

Remember to grab those free fishing reports as you head out on the water.
